On Thursday, August 8, 2019, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Hollister High School's Commons, Taney County and Great River Engineering are hosted an open house public hearing for the Taney County Expressway project.

The expressway project was identified in a regional transportation study that was completed in 1995.  The project will construct a new roadway between Birch Street near Menards to State Highway BB south of Coon Creek Road.  The new Expressway will accommodate two vehicle lanes.

This public hearing provided an opportunity for citizens to learn information about and provide comments on the project.  At the hearing, the preferred expressway alignment, property parcels that would be impacted by the new expressway, and expressway typical width sections were displayed.  The project engineers have worked closely with Taney County and other government entities to design plans for the project.  Information on the estimated timeline for construction was also available at the hearing.

Materials from the hearing will be available after August 12 at:  Taney County Road & Bridge Department, 139 David Street, Forsyth, MO 65653.
